The American Diabetes Association Honors Shleppers For Supporting The Battle To Defeat Diabetes!

Recognizes Shleppers Moving and Storage for Support of 2009 NYC Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk

With over 23.6 Americans suffering from diabetes nationwide - and 1.2 million in New York City alone, The American Diabetes Association is on the front lines in the fight against diabetes every day. Helping them in the fight is Shleppers Moving & Storage, New York's leading mover, which provided assistance this Fall in their 2009 Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk. For this support, The American Diabetes Association recently honored Shleppers with a special commendation. In addition, Shleppers renewed its commitment to supporting the organization again for its 2010 NYC Step Out To Fight Diabetes Walk, which will take place on Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the South Street Seaport.

For the 2009 NYC Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk, Shleppers donated moving and storage services, as well as manpower at the event - support the company has also once again pledged for the upcoming 2010 event. The American Diabetes Association thanked Shleppers for its quick, courteous, and reliable crew, and reported that the support provided invaluable help to the organization in meeting its goal of $500,000 for funding programs to educate New Yorkers on the risk of diabetes, as well as funding research and advocating for those living with the disease. The event was held at the South Street Seaport on October 25th, and proved to be an overwhelming success, with over 2500 walkers joining the march against diabetes across the Brooklyn Bridge.
